SPECIES AND LIMITS:
Each hunter may harvest up to 1 Whitetail or Mule Deer Buck (based on the applicable tag drawn).

LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION:
This hunt will take place on our Private Land Leases near Newell, SD. Guests typically fly into Rapid City, SD the day before the hunt, rent a vehicle and arrive in camp by 3pm (about 1 hour drive).  From camp, we’ll provide transportation to and from the field for the duration of your stay.

HUNT STYLE & TERRAIN:
We offer spot-and-stalk, ground blind and tree-stand style hunts with bow or gun. Our leases are easily accessible and not terribly difficult to navigate. To that end, it’s in your best interest to be in as good of physical condition as possible in order to increase your chance for success and ensure an enjoyable hunt.

• MULE DEER hunting will typically take place in “the breaks” area of our hunting ground and be a spot-and-stalk style hunt.
• WHITETAIL DEER hunts are more typically ground blind or tree-stand style hunts along wooded creek bottoms or in agricultural areas where deer activity is highest.

SUCCESS RATIO:
Nearly 100% shooting opportunity on a mature Whitetail or Mule Deer buck.

PRICE:
All hunt prices are based on 2 hunters x 1 guide (1×1 hunts are available for additional $1,000)

• MULE DEER ARCHERY: $4500 (4-day spot-and-stalk style hunt)
  WHITETAIL ARCHERY: $3500 (4-day tree-stand or ground-blind style hunt)
  MULE DEER RIFLE: $5500 (3-day spot-and-stalk style hunt)
  WHITETAIL RIFLE: $4500 (3-day tree-stand or ground-blind style hunt)
• Price includes: Meals, lodging, guide services, field preparation of game and transportation to/from designated hunting areas.
• Price does not include: Transportation to camp, applicable hunting licenses/tags, game processing, taxidermy fees, alcoholic beverages, gratuities and hotel or meal costs before or after scheduled hunt dates.
• IMPORTANT NOTE: A wounded animal shall be considered harvested and any continuation of the hunt shall be at the discretion of the outfitter.

GRATUITIES:
Our team works hard to ensure your experience is as good as it can be from start to finish. Tips are of course at your discretion, but a good rule of thumb is 10% of hunt cost for our guides and 5% or hunt cost for our cook.

• Sept. 1-4, 2024 (Arrive on Aug 31st and depart on Sep 5th)
• Sept. 7-10, 2024 (Arrive on 6th and depart on 11th)
• Sept. 13-16, 2024 (Arrive on 12th and depart on 17th)
• Sept. 19-22, 2024 (Arrive on 18th and depart on 23rd)
• Oct. 28-Oct 31, 2024 (Arrive on Oct. 27th and depart on Nov. 1st )
• Nov. 3-6, 2024 (Arrive on 2nd and depart on 7th)

WEST RIVER RIFLE DEER:  (SEASON RUNS: NOV 9, 2024 – NOV 24, 2024)

• Nov. 9-11, 2024 (Arrive on 8th and depart on 12th)
• Nov. 13-15, 2024 (Arrive on 12th and depart on 16th)
• Nov. 17-19, 2024 (Arrive on 16th and depart on 20th)

SAMPLE ITINERARY:

• Arrival Date – Arrive at the lodge by 3pm.  Unpack and settle in, enjoy a hearty dinner, socialize and prepare for the following day’s hunt. 
• Hunting Days – Depart after a full breakfast in the morning. Mule Deer hunts are typically more physical, as they are spot-and-stalk style. Whitetail hunters will be set up at a strategically located stand or blind. Break for lunch in the afternoon. Back to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
• Departure Date – Breakfast and depart for home.

MEALS & ACCOMMODATIONS:
This hunt is conducted from a comfortable lodge with all the amenities of home.  Home cooked meals will be served each evening with lunches in the field and breakfast before departing on each day’s hunt.  All you’ll need to bring is your personal hunting gear and toiletries.

TYPICAL WEATHER CONDITIONS:
The weather conditions in South Dakota can fluctuate drastically.  September temps may range from 30’s to 80’s while November temps can dip down into single digits. Precipitation (rain or snow) is always a possibility as well.  Therefore, preparing for various weather conditions is a must.  We will provide a recommended gear list once you have booked your hunt.

LICENSING DETAILS:
Non-Resident Rifle Deer License/Tags are available only by drawing and specific to “any deer” or “whitetail only” (DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR WEST RIVER SPECIAL BUCK IS ON OR AROUND APRIL 14, 2024) – DATES TENTATIVE UNTIL RELEASED BY SD GAME, FISH & PARKS. Non-Resident Archery Deer License/Tags are guaranteed and valid for either whitetail or mule deer but do require the submission of an application. WE WILL BE HAPPY TO ASSIST YOU IN ACQUIRING A LICENSE/TAG.

IMPORTANT NOTE: HUNTERS SAFETY CARD IS REQUIRED FOR ALL HUNTERS UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE.

PROCESSING:
Should you successfully harvest an animal, your guide will be responsible for field dressing, skinning and transporting your prize out of the backcountry and back to camp. Taxidermy and processing fees are the client’s responsibility.

GEAR LIST:
All you’ll need to bring is your personal hunting gear and toiletries. We will provide a recommended gear list once you have booked your hunt.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Fishing may be available in nearby rivers, lakes and ponds.

DEPOSITS:
A 50% non-refundable deposit must be paid to reserve your space. Final payments are due 60 days prior to hunt start date.
